Fíbry

Fibres

We offer fibres from the German company HORNEX both in semi-finished and finished products.

Available in various sizes and thicknesses from stock.

The raw material for vulcanized fibres is a highly absorbent, unsized special paper. It is made from a mixture of cotton and cellulose.

In terms of mechanical properties, vulcanized fiber offers high strength and low weight. The high elasticity of the material allows for very easy production of finished parts by bending. Simple shapes can also be created very well using the vacuum forming or drawing process.

Since it is a material resistant to many chemicals, the fiber is a classic material for the production of seals.

In the electrical industry, vulcanized fiber is used as an insulator in switches and other electrical applications due to its good insulating properties and resistance to sparking.

The flexible but tough properties of the material make the fiber an ideal product for a substrate when vacuum forming or drawing materials with a sensitive surface.

In the textile industry, the fiber is used as a thread conductor because it has good abrasion resistance and antistatic properties.

The fibers are also used in welding shields, among other things. Here, too, their resistance to sparking is taken into account.

Due to its environmental benefits, vulcanized fiber is also a popular choice for sustainable production, where the emphasis is on recyclability and environmental friendliness. In addition, its production and processing do not require the use of toxic substances, which contributes to its safe use in many industries.

Vulcanized fiber is also permanently resistant to temperatures up to 110 °C.
